1.How do you achieve your low prices?

Unlike many of our competitors, we do not have a shop with the rent, bills or indeed any of the enormous costs surrounding other tailors. Instead, we are an E-Commerce company with a studio in the heart of the Cotswold Countryside. Fittings can take place here on request. Since we only sell bespoke suits we also carry no stock. Furthermore, we do not advertise. We rely on our popularity on the internet, word of mouth and recommendations from existing customers. Your suit is tailored in a traditional way complemented with a modern, efficient administrative process. These factors make us an extremely cost-efficient company, and we pass these savings onto the customer.  TOP

2.Can I provide my own materials?

Yes. We understand that some of our clients wish to purchase materials they have found elsewhere. Aptus Suits can deal with your request.

Firstly, provide us with your measurements so we can advise you on the length of material required, as a general guide for an average height and build, we estimate that we will need:

 2 piece: 3.5m

3 piece: 4.5m

2 piece extra trousers: 5m

Before an order of this nature is made, we will require further details from you so as your suit can be made in accordance with our bespoke standards. TOP

3.What happens if I want to change my order?

Once your order has been processed you have 24 hours to inform us of any changes you require. After this time your order cannot be amended as it will have entered production. For further information, please refer to our terms and conditions. TOP

4. How long does it take to tailor my suit once ordered?

Usually your suit is completed and ready for transporting within 4 - 6 weeks. As our suits are tailored specifically to your measurements, the 2nd fitting is one of the most important parts of the process. We will arrange a mutually convenient time to book this appointment and we will then see you in your suit when, should any alterations be required, your suit will be pinned/chalked on you and alterations carried out and completed typically within 1-2 weeks. The final fitting is then booked where you will try the suit on for the last time and typically the whole process should take between 6-8 weeks.  On some occasions, it may take slightly longer than this to ensure a perfect fit is obtained. 5.Can you offer advice on the best suit for me?

Yes we offer advice either by email, telephone calls, or by fitting. TOP

6.How and where is my suit made?

Our suits are made abroad in Hong Kong by our master tailor. We did originally have our suits tailored in the UK however, due to ever increasing costs and lead times, we could no longer offer suits with a competitive price to our clients.

Our tailor has been with us for a number of years and has decades of experience. We have built up a strong relationship with him and regularly visit him to continue this relationship. Our staff have been trained by him so as they can take the correct measurements ensuring your suit has the perfect fit.

As soon as we know your measurements, and you've chosen the cloth, lining and style of your suit, we send the details of your order to our master tailor. Your suit measurements are then assigned to your master cutter. Every suit is individually hand-cut to your exact measurements and your style preferences.

Upon completion, each suit is carefully checked by our master tailor, to maintain our high standards. All button holes are hand-sewn with the finest silk thread a keynote of quality workmanship. Each suit is cut on individual paper patterns, based on all of your exact measurements.

Your measurements are then saved by way of your own personal account and if you haven't changed sizes, a new tailored suit is only a call or email away. All of our suits can have your own name or initials sewn into the inner jacket pocket (free of charge). All of our tailored suits have Full French facing lining as standard. All seams are reinforced for maximum durability. Once quality controlled, the suit is then shipped. TOP

7.What fabric are your shirts made from?

All of our tailored shirts are made from the finest 100% cotton. We believe that these fabrics are far superior to any other shirt fabric and thus the perfect complement to a tailored suit. A variety of cuff and collar styles are offered and we also tailor shirts for specific professionals i.e. tailored barrister/advocate shirts.  TOP

8.  Is there an extra cost for larger sizes or disabled customers?

For larger sizes, obviously more material has to be used and this therefore increases the overall costs. However, we can have a discussion via email/telephone in regards to individual concerns. For our disabled clients, again, it is dependent upon sizes and the disability. Often, many of our disabled clients have specific requirements (wheelchair users for example) and therefore, these requirements are more time consuming compared to our standard specifications.

We do have experience dealing with many larger sized and disabled clients and we therefore have developed an understanding of what is required and how to overcome various problems which our clients have had with ‘off the peg’ clothing. TOP

9. Is it possible to purchase just a pair of trousers, a waistcoat or a jacket?

Yes. Each one of our garments can be bought individually. If a waistcoat is required at a later date to match the fabric of your suit, Aptus will be happy to meet this requirement.  TOP

10.What is the cut of your suits?

Aptus Suits are made to a classic 3 button English cut or our very fashionable 2 button Italian design. The finishing touches such as the number of vents, buttons and of course, fabrics, are left to the demands of our customers. Likewise if you require a particular cut why not send us a picture and we will endeavour to match it.  TOP

11.What if my question is not listed here?
